Sea View Hospital Center Grace Foundation Phase 3, 460 Brielle Ave., Staten Island, NY 

The project is located inside Sea View Hospital campus in Willowbrook neighborhood of Staten Island, New York. Inside Special Natural Area District. The area is also a designated city landmark – New York City Farm Colony – Seaview Hospital Historic District. Project scope includes exterior site work around an existing one-story building housing the Grace Foundation, a non-profit organization that holds classes and programs for children and adults on the autism spectrum.

Planning

Work includes the removal of an existing concrete road from Brielle Avenue into the hospital campus as well as the construction of a new asphalt drive and parking area with vehicle turn around. New concrete ADA-compliant ramps for staff, parent parking, and student drop off will be built to provide pedestrian access from the parking and drop-off area to basement and first floor entrances.

45 new, striped parking spaces are to replace the existing unstriped parking area for 8 cars. Parking will be directly accessible from Brielle Avenue using the existing entrance.

The design also includes: a new play area, new site lighting, soil removal, site regrading, stone retaining walls, new waterproof membrane, perforated footing drain (to drain excess ground water from the foundations), a new drainage system, and the replacement of roof leaders.
